Since joining ALPA in 2022, Ravn Alaska pilots have moved forward with setting up Master Executive Council (MEC) communications systems and recruiting pilot volunteers to build the union.
In late 2022, the pilots’ Negotiating Committee began preparing for negotiations and surveyed the pilot group with the goal of securing a first collective bargaining agreement. Bargaining began in early 2023 and is ongoing. Pilot negotiators are supported by ALPA’s professional staff, including attorneys, retirement and insurance specialists, economic and financial analysts, and scheduling advisors, as well as communications specialists. To date, both parties have agreed to the following sections: Transfer to/from Management/Supervisory Position; Physical Standards, Examinations, and Testing; Missing, Interned, Prisoner, Hostage, or Hijacking Benefits; Investigations and Discipline; Grievances; System Board of Adjustment; and Furlough and Recall.
New Pacific Airlines (NPA) encompasses the Ravn Alaska operation, which has a long history in the state and is the largest passenger airline headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska.
