Have You Read? Driven to the Hilt: The Deepest Cut

The city of New Cincinnati on the planet Cypress Grove, well into the future, is the setting of the first installment of D.G. Lamb’s Driven to the Hilt series.

Here we meet the protagonist—11-year-old Joshua, whose life has been less than easy to this point. Through a series of crushing setbacks, victories, trying alliances, and harrowing challenges and escapes, Joshua proves his resiliency against daunting odds again and again. His life motto, which he learned from his departed father: Resolute.

This is more than a coming-of-age story. It’s a gripping science fiction page-turner filled with wonderfully descriptive prose about this futuristic city, fantastic animals of all types, learning who to trust, and relying on your every resource.

Readers of all ages will be invested in each character, surprised by each twist, pull for Joshua, and wonder when Lamb’s next installment is coming out—which I hope is soon!
