Today, we celebrate Labor Day throughout the U.S. and Canada. Traditionally, the Canadian Labour Day was established as an occasion to campaign for and celebrate workers’ rights during parades and picnics organized by trade unions. In the U.S., Labor Day was first established by trade unionists to celebrate labor, and now this federal holiday continues to honor the numerous contributions workers have made to the country.
There’s no better time to recognize our hard-working pilots and union leaders, and express our appreciation. The pilot leaders who represent each pilot group work day-in and day-out to improve the lives of pilots through unity, commitment, and support. Their dedication to advancing the aviation profession and promoting promising careers in the industry is unwavering. Commercial airline pilots and their union pilot leaders embody everything Labor Day stands for, and we are proud to serve them today and every day.
To our pilots, Happy Labor Day from ALPA.
