ALPA Alerts Alaska Passengers and Air Cargo Shippers to Pilot Pay Shortage

Capt. Paul Ryder, ALPA’s national resource coordinator, told the Alaska Dispatch News this week that there isn’t currently a lack of pilots in the United States, but rather an issue with airlines offering competitive pay. “What we are seeing is a pilot pay shortage,” Ryder told the Anchorage newspaper. “Carriers that aren’t competitive, they have a hard time attracting that talent.” Read more.
