ALPA Thanks Whitaker for Service to Aviation Industry, Looks to Future
WASHINGTON—Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA) president Capt. Jason Ambrosi issued the following statement on the impending resignation of Michael Whitaker from his position as administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA):
“During his time as FAA administrator, Michael Whitaker has shown tremendous dedication to the safety of our industry, including the importance of having two highly trained pilots on the flight deck. His keen understanding of aviation safety priorities advanced the interests of not only the more than 79,000 pilots represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, but also the millions of Americans who travel by air each day.
“We thank him for his service and look forward to working toward our shared goal of safety and security with the next leader who takes up this incredibly important post at a critical time for U.S. aviation.”
