World’s Largest Pilot Union Names David Krieger as New General Manager
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The world’s largest pilot union, the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), appointed David Krieger to serve as general manager effective January 1. As ALPA’s most senior staff member, Krieger will work directly with pilot leadership on the strategic planning, financial, and administrative functions of the union.
“Over his past 20 years at ALPA, Dave has earned the trust and respect of pilots and staff and will be a thoughtful and effective leader. Dave has the full support of ALPA’s leadership team and is well-positioned to take over as general manager,” said Capt. Joe DePete, ALPA president.
Throughout his ALPA career, Krieger has been instrumental in the oversight of ALPA’s financial, operational, statistical, economic, and labor-agreement analyses. He was promoted to managing director in 2014, where he led all of ALPA’s Representation, Retirement and Insurance, Legal, and Economic and Financial Analysis activities.
Founded in 1931, ALPA is the largest airline pilot union in the world and represents more than 61,000 pilots at 34 U.S. and Canadian airlines. Visit the ALPA website at alpa.org or follow us on Twitter @WeAreALPA.
