It’s that time of the year—the beginning of summer marks the start of the busiest season for airline pilots. According to Airlines for America, a record 257 million passengers will fly to vacation destinations all around the world this summer, which is a 3.4 percent increase from the all-time record set last year.
But you can rest assured that your journey will go off without a hitch thanks to an ALPA pilot. We are #TrainedForLife and fly with one goal: #KeepFlyingSafe for our passengers and our fellow crewmembers.
Even before you arrive at the gate for your flight, your two highly trained, well-rested, and fully qualified pilots have been reviewing our own checklists to make sure your flight is ready for takeoff. While you were in line at the newsstand waiting to pay for the latest issue of your favorite magazine, we were inspecting the aircraft top to bottom, personally confirming that critical systems are in working order. While you’re cruising to your destination, sipping a beverage from the service cart, we are monitoring every aspect of the aircraft’s systems. And as you’re getting ready to land, we are in constant communication with air traffic control, navigating the congested skies to a safe landing.
