Tell Congress to Protect American Aviation Jobs!

Yesterday, bipartisan legislation was introduced into the U.S. House of Representatives that, if passed, would defend U.S. trade deals, promote fair competition for U.S. airlines, and protect the jobs of airline pilots and other airline workers in the United States.

The Fair and Open Skies Act (H.R. 3632), introduced by House Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I) Committee Chair Peter DeFazio (D-OR), will enable the Department of Transportation to prevent airlines with flag-of-convenience business models and other atypical employment practices from serving the United States. Flag-of-convenience operations base parts of their businesses in different countries around the globe to try to undercut tax, labor, and safety regulations.

To airline pilots and other aviation workers, H.R. 3632 means putting a stop to these business schemes that undermine labor rights, safety, and the competitiveness of the U.S. airline industry.

To members of the flying public, this bill would mean not allowing the erosion of a proactive safety culture that we should demand and that we have fostered here in the United States..

Join us in our cause by telling Congress to support H.R. 3632 to protect American jobs, defend a fair and free marketplace for U.S. airlines and their employees. This pro-jobs, bipartisan legislation will help level the playing field and keep our skies safe.
